Impressive huh?
It started out simply enough. Our sewer was having problems so we called the county to take a look. They poked around some and before we knew it they punctured a gas main for the street . It wasn't a major pipe but it stank up the cul-de-sac. So PG&E came out. All in all there were about 3 BIG trucks for the gas leak and about 4 or 5 trucks for the sewer problem. Sheesh. Oh, and a plumber showed up in his van too. It was quite the production.
The gas leak is circled in red:
It took the majority of the day before they had finished. And it started to rain too, poor guys. Here's a night shot.
The plumber identified the problem too. Our sewer pipe is old and in bad shape. He pulled some smallish roots from the pipe and even ran a camera down the line to show us just how bad it is. They managed to unclog us but it's just a matter of time before it happens again. Great, neh?
Ahhh, the joys of home ownership. But I gotta say, through all of this, and through the following night when we identified a major leak from a window, I still look around and think to myself, "Yeah, but it's OUR HOUSE!" Woohoo!
